Microsoft’s recent major moves are proving fruitful as their products: Windows 10 and Ms Edge have seen a significant increase in market share.
In terms of Operating Systems, Windows 10 jumped from 61.4% to 64.4% just from last month. This may be due to windows 7 users upgrading to the now more stable and secure Windows 10. macOS also recorded a drop from 5.11% to 4.88% market share, signaling a minor shift happening right now.
In terms of browsers, Chrome dropped from 69.94% to 69.25% while Ms Edge gained from 8.84% to 10.22%. This can be due to the Windows 10 October update, which placed Edge at the forefront, and also the recent redesign of Edge, to come in line with the latest trends in browser technology. It should be noted that Ms Edge is now the runner up in the browser wars as it has blazed past Mozilla Firefox which has a market share of 7.22%.
